To educate students and teachers that safety of children and the staff in school is of utmost priority ,a fire safety demonstration drill was conducted in the campus by a group of police officials from Fire and Rescue Team, Kattakada station . Various preventive measures that one must follow during a fire breakout scenario were also discussed in detail with students of grades 6-11.
Carmel school Peyad celebrated its Carmel Day cum Talents Day on 16th July 2019. The program was blessed by Rev. Fr. Shaji D Savio, Manager St. Xaviers School Peyad. The much awaited Annual sports Meet 2019 of Carmel School, Peyad was held on Saturday 3rd July, at the University Stadium. The stadium was overflowing with excitement and zeal. Smt. Jincy Philip, Olympian and Silver medalist of Asian Games presided over the function as chief guest. The School's Principal Rev. The Hiroshima Day was observed, at Carmel School Peyad, on 6th August 2019. A special assembly promoting peace was organised by the class 7 students. Anaswara of class 7B delivered a speech. In Reading week concluding ceremony was held with great fervour. It was officially concluded by the Chief Guest Shri.R.S Madhu, a renowned personality in the Malayalam Literary Field. Prizes were distributed for the winners in various competitions, held in association with the reading week.
The International Day against Child Labour was observed in Carmel School by the students with great fervour. A Debate was conducted on the topic Should child labour be banned? . The IX grade students participated enthusiastically drawing to a conclusion that children are flowers with powerful fragrance of any nation. They also added that it is better not to ban child labour, but completely end its root forever by removing poverty and inequality.
A mock drill and demonstration about Fire Safety and Rescue was conducted in the School campus. The students were excited and welcomed the Fire and Safety Office personnel with great enthusiasm. The Staff and Non teaching staff were also given awareness class about the rescue methods and safety precautions in case of a fire outbreak.
