Carmel School, Peyad celebrated the 73rd Independence Day of India with pomp and zeal in the school. Students assembled on the school ground at 7:30 am. The principal unfurled the national flag. This was followed by our National Anthem sung by the school choir. Rev. Sr. Lissi A P, the Principal addressed the gathering. She spoke about the significance of the historic day, and urged the students to become model citizens. She also reminded us of the struggles of our freedom fighters and paid tribute to them. The programme ended with the distribution of sweets.
