Annual Sports Meet 2018

The much awaited Annual sports Meet 2018 of Carmel School, Peyad was held on Saturday 21st July, at the University Stadium. The stadium was overflowing with excitement and zeal. Smt. S Omanakumari, an Indian Professional Field Hockey Player, a recipient of Arjuna Award presided over the event as the Chief Guest. The Schools Principal Rev. Sr. Gracelyn, Staff Secretary Mrs. Beena Antony also graced the occasion. The day was fun-filled and students were in high spirits.

Independence Day was celebrated at Carmel School, Peyad on August 14. Rev. Sr. Gracelyn, welcomed the gathering. Teachers Day was observed in Carmel School with a morning assembly conducted by the students of class XI. The principal Rev. Sr. Gracelyn bestowed her blessings on our beloved teachers. On 14th Sep 2018 an Awareness Programme on Leptospirosis was conducted at the school auditorium. The respresentatives from the Public Health Centre, Vilappil Panchayat Smt. Mangala Surendren and Smt. Khyrunnisa gave a detailed description of the symptoms ,effects and causes of this disease. The class turned out to be very informative.

Vayanakalari was conducted in Carmel School in association with Malayala Manorama on 14th September 2018. Malayala Manorama Circulation Officer Sri. Joshy John Mathew and Dr. Robert Justin Raj, Managing Director of Travancore Hospital were the Chief guests and they inspired the students by their words on the importance of reading news paper. Surgical Strike Day was observed on 29th Sep 2018 to mark the Second anniversary of the Indian Army's daring strike at terror pods across the Pakistani-administered Kashmir. Gandhi Jayanti celebrations were held in school in the 4th October 2018. The programme started commemorating Gandhiji, by lighting a lamp. A prayer song followed, as an ode to the Father of our nation. Children celebrated this event by dressing up same as Gandhiji. Carmel School Peyad has been doing Charity services ever since its founded. Mathrubhumi-VKC Nanma Club members along with its co-ordinators Mrs. Beena Antony and Mrs. Nirmala went to Santhyanewshana Charitable Trust, Uriyacode an Oldage home, and spent time with the inmates and provided them necessary belongings.

62nd anniversary of the establishment of the state, the Kerala Piravi day was celebrated with zest and zeal at Carmel School Peyad. Dr. L.R Madhujan a consulting psychologist, Director of Karunasai De addiction Centre and a renowned literary figure, who received the Karunasai literary Award, was the cheif guest of the day, and he gave an inspiring speech. Principal Rev. Sr. Gracelyn, Sr. Jennifer and Mrs. Beena Antony, the staff Secretary graced the pleasant occassion.
